Dr. McHugh Called me today to check on Dolly again. It's been almost 4 weeks since Dolly had her accident and Dr. McHugh's office is 170 miles away. The chances that I would become a regular customer of hers is slim but she has called several times in these past weeks to check on Dolly anyway. If I lived close enough I would be taking all of my critters to her because she is one of the best Veterinarians I have ever met.
One thing I remember best about the conversation was when I told her that she did not see Dolly at her best as she was hurting. Dr told me " I know that but I saw Dolly at her bravest and she is a very brave little dog." I did not think of that until she mentioned it.
I do remember how well they treated Dolly there. You could not move her without hurting her. Dr's staff went out to my truck and brought her in without hurting her at all. Now that I think about it I do not remember her yelping out in pain when they were doing X-rays and such. I cannot imagine how they managed to do that but they did.
I also remember sitting out in the waiting room and several of her customers telling me that I had brought Dolly to the best vet in Kansas City. I think the term "Customers" is the wrong one but I'll just call them that until I can think of a better term. I want to call them patients but they aren't.
The people at the Vet School Clinic were very happy with Dr McHugh's X-Rays. They only did one more. I am glad she sent them with me.
